The subject of the course is to study economic complex of Ukraine and its regions, the economic problems of spatial organization of society, territorial economic system, a set of economic, natural resource and demographic factors that contribute to the development and distribution of productive forces and the formation of regional economies, etc. Interconnection with other courses The course “Regional Economics” is connected with the following courses: “Political Economy”, “Economics”, “History of Ukraine”, “History of Economic Thought”. 1.1. Aim and Tasks of the Course 1.1.1. The aim of the course “Regional Economics” is to study, organize and to develop knowledge on the theoretical and practical bases of the territorial organization of the Ukraine’s productive forces, the current condition and trends of regional economic development and environmental awareness, thoughts and consciousness of students. 1.1.2. The main objectives of the course "Regional economy" is studying the theoretical bases of regional economy and regional development, scientific principles of regional policy; territorial and sectoral structure of economic complex of Ukraine and its regions; objective need for rational and efficient use of natural, scientific, industrial, human resource of the regions; mastering the principles of environmental management and environmental protection, the concept of environmental monitoring, environmental regulations and standards. 1.1.3. According to the speciality specification students should: know: basic economic categories, laws, principles and factors of productive forces distribution and regional development, natural resources and labor resource potential of Ukraine, commercial complex and inter-country relations, situation and problems of regional development, greening production areas; be able to: analyze and properly solve real problems of regions economic development, to assess the situation and make forecasts for regions and industries; have skills in: formation and processing information base for analysis, presentation and setting forms processing methods; tracking events and processes that determine their factors; gathering information on trends in environmental changes; forming an information base for example, situations in the environment; development purposes provided adequate proposals on the composition of indicators, their calculation methods and forms of presentation; explore the possibilities of foreign economic relations, conducting search prospective foreign partners; setting goals for implementation of software implementation of the information flow automation.
