The subject of the course is to study theoretical, methodological and practical problems of a business entity functioning in the market conditions, in particular the problems of increase the enterprise performance, efficient use of resources and production potential, investment viability, etc.

The course “Enterprise Economics” is connected with the following courses: “Political Economy”, “Macroeconomics”, “Microeconomics” and “Statistics”, and in its turn is the basis for special courses: “Finance”, “Financial activity of an enterprise”, “Investment activity”, “Marketing”, “Management”, “Taxation system”, “Theory of accounting”, “Accounting in industry”, “Economic analysis”.
1.1 Aim and Tasks of the Course
The aim of the course “Enterprise Economics” is to study, organize and classify the key concepts of economics, determine peculiarities of the enterprises’ organization and effective functioning, systematization of theoretical and practical knowledge concerned with effective management of their activity.
According to the speciality specification students should:
know: nature of economics as a science, necessity of its genesis, role of the enterprise economics in the system of other courses; legal basis of the enterprise functioning; enterprise classification; methods and principles of enterprise management, organizational structure of management: classification of the enterprise resources, sources of their formation, assess efficiency of their functioning and develop new ways to increase their effective use; determine and evaluate enterprise performance; nature of current costs and prime cost; prices and pricing methods; planning and government control of the enterprise activity; principles of labour motivation, forms and systems of labour remuneration; methods and system of planning at the enterprise; ways of enterprise winding up;
be able to: formulate the main definitions of the course; choose amortization system and amortization deductions; conduct evaluation of the impact of the external environment factors on the enterprise’s activity; make product calculations; analyze the structure of current expenses of the enterprise; select pricing method and form product price; assess financial and entrepreneurial activity; determine economic efficiency of investments; determine economic viability of innovations and innovation projects;
have skills in: solving economic situations; choice of form of business ownership; analysis of the formation process and effectiveness of the enterprise’s resources use; conducting feasibility of the decisions on investment viability; decision and proposal making on the level of increase of effective enterprise activity.
